Being green is not just for Kermit or a bunch of long haired quinoa-munching hippies anymore.
It should, by now, be standard practice and part of everyday life.
We try to avoid printing where possible. All out invoicing and written communication is done via email. All conceptual work is proofed by PDF. Printed versions are available by request only.
If we do use paper or cardboard, it is made from 100% recycled pulp.
Two thirds of our rubbish is recycled. Paper, cardboard, plastics, tin, and aluminium are all recycled. Food scraps are composted and fed back into the garden, or given to Pamela and Barbie to snack on.
We use biodegradable cleaning products for household use and laundry.
By putting a 2 litre bottle of water in the cistern we save up to 10 litres per day each!
Everytime an old lightbulb gives up the ghost we re-fit with energy saving bulbs.
None of our computers or appliances are left on standby. Its not that much of a hassle to turn the beast off every night - it actually helps to cool it down and saves electricity.
Because we all work from home the amount of driving around is minimal. I've had a bike in the garage for ages, which is now been dusted off, and I will be riding it around instead of taking the car.
By taking our own bags to the supermarket we cut down on about 12 - 20 shopping bags per week!
Ecostore: Retailer of sustainable household and personal care products. They use biodegradable ingredients that break down efficiently and harmlessly.
Energy saving bulbs: They use 20% of the energy of other bulbs and produce the same amount of light.
They also have a cool coiled shape.
Envirosax: Take your own bags when you buy groceries, clothes or other items. It saves a humungus amount of plastic ending up in the landfill.
Paper: Buy 100% recycled paper - it does cost a bit more, but so what.
