Located in the heart of the gorgeous Tasman region, The Boot is a unique experience perhaps one of the most extraordinary in New Zealand.
The estate was established by the owners, Judy and Steve Richards 1991. All the buildings within the grounds, including their home, have been built using sustainable building practices with timber and earth from the land. The gardens have been created using Permaculture design principles, incorporating a huge variety of useful trees and edible fruiting plants.
The Boot provides private, romantic, boutique accommodation. The space, designed for two in mind, has a comfy lounge below and a spiral staircase leading up to a private bedroom with ensuite bathroom. The Juliet balcony provides rural views of the courtyard and pond. Breakfast of your choice is delivered anytime before midday, using local organic produce as much as possible. The courtyard outside and open wood fire inside, provide a delightful setting for relaxation and exploration of the area in both the summer or winter months.
Jester's Café, also situated on the property, was re-built in 2006 and is now an impressive example of eco-building. Serving superb food made from local fresh produce, it is the perfect place to enjoy lunch and sample the local beer and wine.
